Malacca trip.

Wednesday, March 11, 2009

Done trying, I should think.

06 March 2009, Friday/ 07 March 2009, Saturday:

Dearest me woke up at 1600. I slept late, hence I was comatose, I suppose. I have had a good night sleep and it was so satisfying. Then I waited for my brother to get home from NCC training before heading to my mum's place. My dad insisted on sending us there. All the better, time saved on that one.

When we got there, I started eating. There will always be food to my liking over there. Good for Jean. Apart from that, the three of us were chatting a lot, as usual. Despite being totally worn out, my brother refused to get to bed before the clock strikes midnight so as to text a birthday wish for someone. Hmm, I wonder..

We were supposed to rise at 0300, thereabout.
THAT WAS INSANE.
I am usually still awake at that time, and now, I am to wake up in the wee hours? Therefore, I had slight difficulties in getting to sleep. Miraculously, I managed to catch a wink for about three hours, and I got up all rejuvenated.

Things have never changed. My brother was the last to get ready.
Vain pot.
However, we were nonetheless, on time.

I took many random photos and I loved them all. I am grateful to my beloved camera. To capture beautiful shots, all you need is a good camera. To have a good camera, all you need is a wonderful mother.

Things I have realised during my trip to Malacca:

1. Spark and Vespa populate Malacca, or rather, Malaysia.
(I will bring forth my elaboration with the aid of numerical figures.)
Out of 10 bikes I saw, there was be 4 Sparks, 5 Vespas, and 1 would fall under the
category of others.

2. Malacca is blazing hot! I constantly suffered in the sweltering heat and I felt
like I was suffocating.

3. Everything simply looks too rundown. The streets are just like certain corners
of Singapore.
Nothing very fascinating.

4. Eye on Malaysia is pathetic. Yes, they do have an Eye on Malaysia. (No, I didn't
get on that puny little ferris wheel.)
Nothing can outrival London Eye.

5. In comparison to mua country, Malacca lacks in road safety.

Things I have learnt about my mum:

1. She likes Lady Gaga's songs. Can you ever believe it?! How cool is that. I am
flabbergasted.

2. She gets annoyed with her father frequently, whom is my grandfather.

3. She has the professional camera. I am impressed because little did I know she
has an interest for photography.

(I shall upload the pictures soon.)
I have close to five hundred, but erased like a hundred of them.

08 March 2009, Sunday:

Nabz and I met and we took a cab down to our workplace. We would have been late if we were to catch a bus instead.

If memory still serves me well, Charie was the MOD for the evening, May Ann was doing runner, Nabz was appointed as station master A, Jean as B, Mon as greeter and Betty as bartender.

I can't really recall what happened while I was working as everything seemed so distant already. You know me, memory like a sieve. More like soccer net, I reckon. I was blessed, as I led the birthday rap when the restaurant was about to start closing. This must have been the best birthday rap I have ever done since I needn't really shout.

Leonard: Who 's leading birthday rap?
Jean looks at Leonard with a reluctant face.
Nabilah: Jean lah.
Jean: YES! Me.
Leonard: *laughs* I have never hear you shout before.

All the staffs left after doing their part in closing, but Nabz and I thought we could wait for Charie. After some time, we gave up waiting. Haha. Oh, I stole some croutons to munch on. Then we went up to Mcdonalds for supper.

09 March 2009, Monday:

It was a Monday morning and my lovely soulmate was sweet enough to travel miles and miles, just to get to my house (to fetch me, of course). Just so you know, both of us only had four five hours of sleep, and to get up early was indeed a marvellous achievement.

I was really late since my grandmother was out and I desperately needed to get money from her. Out of desperate measure, I scour at home for money, I found it, I took it, and I left in a hurry. Just as I got to the void deck, my grandmother came back alongside with my aunt, and she gave me some more money. Elated, I was.

In worries of being late for our medical checkup, Nabz and I hailed a cab to take us to T3. The entire process was an experience. When the lady attended to us (let's call her nurse, shall we?), she said "height and weight", and guess what was processed into my head? Hide and wait.
How retarded.

Urine test was almost a breeze.
Height and weight sucked.
Blood pressure was normal.
Eyesight test was bad.
X-ray was cool.
Seeing the doctor was brief.

We opted for a cheaper public transport to bring us back to Pasir Ris- bus 53. Dropped our x-rays at Nabilah's house when we met this weirdo whom Nabz thought was Mr Mahathir. He does resembles Mr Mahathir, but well, till now, we can't confirm it was him we saw.

From her place, we got onto another cab and headed to TP to submit our final document, which is the medical report. Over at TP, we bumped into Chin Choo, Alfred, Denn, Jonathan and Noor. Once mission was accomplished, we took a bus to Tampines Mall to meet the fellows.

When we got to Fish & Co., Anne and Nadz had already arrived. We waited for the other three vain pots to reach, and yes, the ladies waited. Anyway, we had to rule out the possibility of us going to town since it was pouring, and opted for Marina Square in replacement.

I saw us (Anne, Nabz, and I), girls, in general, in these four guys, except they are probably more worse. They were tardy, they walk really slowly, as if taking small strides on the beach, and they are indecisive. Hahaha, so cutezxzxz.

We purchased our tickets for Push and entered the theatres right away.
I LOVED THIS FILM.
Firstly, Chris Evans was smouldering hot! You ought to adore him.
Secondly, the ladies, with reference to Fanning and Belle, were gorgeous.
Thirdly, I thought the movie was witty.

We were all freeeeezing cold. So off we went to the washroom. Guess what happened? Anne and I were walking towards the ladies when we heard someone screaming. When we turned, Khai was the one making the noise and running to the gents. Gosh, Khai oh Khai.

We had our late dinner at Pizza Hut, and it was Farhan's choice. Before we were seated, Khai said he wanted a table for an adult and six kids. Hahaha. Joke of the day. It was definitely more like six adults and one kid!

While we girls were fast in making our decisions on what to have, the guys contemplated for ages! Now you know what I mean.

Food was great, and I managed to finish my pasta. All the food was wiped out and rarely would I see something like that. Impressive. Ash made it happened by finishing the leftovers. Kudos to him.

Fellows wanted to bowl, and so did they. Khai wanted to be the victor so badly, but Farhan triumphed all rivals, and Khai ended up being the third while Nabz was the first runner-up.

We left the building and walked outside instead while Khai and Farhan smoked. Initially, we wanted to go to TCC at Citylink to chill for a bit, but Anne had to leave, so we abolished the idea. Farhan, Khai and I were way ahead of Nadz, Ash, Anne and Nabz, and we just went through the gantry of the train station only to realise that the four of them were still behind. While Nadz, Ash and Nabz sent Anne to the taxi stand, the three of us had to stand around for awhile. I was teasing them both and really, they are like little boys. Haha.

The guys parted from us at Tampines where they alighted the train. Nabz and I ended our day with yet another cab ride.

Anyway, it is getting late. I shall continue soon(:

Goodnight.

PS Should I make any ridiculous errors in my post, I seek for your understanding.

I will ride.

I really really really want to blog about my happenings these few days. However, I know I will take ages to finish a post, so I shall leave it till I have ample time on my hand. Procrastination.

Note to Jean:
1. Malacca trip.
3. Work on Sunday. (Birthday rap.)
2. Monday's outing with Anne, Ash, Farhan, Khai, Nabz and Nadz.
+ Work on Tuesday.

Let me sleep.

I am back.
I am dead beat.
I need to catch up on my sleep. At least I would know this is just a dream.
I feel detached from the world.
I will blog about my trip some other day. There are so many pictures to upload.
Everything constantly reminded me of you. It is cruel.
I thought things could get better, but no.
This is heartwrenching.
Perhaps it's time.

Goodnight.

Haste makes waste.

Half my day was dedicated to my beloved bed. I just woke up not too long ago and I feel so lifeless. I'm like an inert matter now and it just ain't feeling right.

Oh, I forgot! Yesterday was the fifth. So..
HAPPY 8TH MONTHS, BRATTY!
This wouldn't have happened without Joseph(:

Initially, I wanted to drop by Fish & Co. to see Nabilah(who is working) before I leave. However, I just couldn't get up, then. I'm speaking as though I'll be abroad for three years, but really, this is how I feel now. I have a hunch I am going to miss out a lot while I am away. This is something I am animus towards.

I think I should do whatever that makes me happy.
Off I go.

Later.

Keep it just the way it is.

I WORKED, AT LAST.
I took a cab down to work today as I was afraid I may be late. Okay, not technically late, but neither do I like to arrive just in the nick of time. I have to reach my workplace at least fifteen minutes before my shift starts. My principle.

Anne was there when I got to the restaurant, so were the HQ staffs. They were here to interview people who applied for jobs. Just so you know, successful applicants will be posted to Tampines 1, and not staying here at Tampines Mall.

Nadz was training a new girl by the name of Joice. A petite girl, actually. Don't be fooled by her size- she's older than me! I was assigned to do runner and A. What I prefer doing over greeter and B. Joice was training to be the greeter.

It felt very slow-paced, really. Nadz kept stealing my job by running the food for me. Anyway, I think I am beginning to recall uninteresting and unimportant details that happened during my shift. You'll see how boring it was.

The soupoftheday was Fish Chowder, and you know how badly customers generally respond to that.
Mhars gave me a short briefing which was almost redundant, but I appreciate it as it marks the start of my shift.
Nadz dumped his cutleries with me and ran my food when I was already a foot away from the hatch.
Joice learned how to clear, clean and set up the table.
I was merely standing around half the time I was working.
I managed to check back majority of the tables. All, actually, if I wasn't mistaken.
Mhars told me to act like I am busy. If I were to do so, I would be a laughing stock, and I bet they would mock at me.
View started working much earlier.
Mahir dropped by for the interview.
Whenever I entered the kitchen, it felt as though everyone was giving way to me.
Minthu asked me to get a plaster for him.

Minthu: Jean, can give me one plaster?
Jean: No, cannot.
Minthu: Just one plaster, please.
Jean: Okay okay.

You should have heard how he said please.

Jean: Nadz, can get me a plaster? For Minthu.
Nadz: Why, what happened?
Jean: I don't know lah. He just asked for it.
Nadz: Aiyah, he is always like that.
Nadz takes the First Aid Kit, opens it, and starts searching for the plaster when the big box of plasters is right at the top.
Jean: It's just there.
Nadz takes out three plasters.
Jean: Why three?

Nadz: Ask him to take and go far far play.
Jean: Huh?
Nadz: Ask Minthu to take and play far far away.

Two customers asked me for cheese, thinking that it is the name for lemon butter sauce.

Nadz walks into the kitchen.
Nadz: Khai, tell everyone there's a meeting on Saturday at 2pm.
Khai: Okay.
Khai: OOOOOOOOIIIII!
Khai: Everybody thereisameetingonSaturdayat2pm.

I was on the floor and I heard everything and it was so hysterical!

Jean: Oh oh, it is in my bag!
Khai: Never mind, I'm coming back later.
Later..
Jean: Khai, you can take it from my bag. The yellow plastic bag.
Khai: Okay.
Khai: This one right?
Jean: Yes.
Khai: Okay, thanks.

Mhars: Later uh, put customers at B. Then you can mop station A.
Jean: Okay.
Centuries later..
Mhars: Darling, pretend to do something. Don't just stand there.
Jean: Yeah, I know. Ask them to go away and I can mop A.
Mhars: Ya lah, shit.

After my shift, I helped out with them, still. Shaik was the MOD for the night. It got pretty busy that night. Then I heard, "Table?" This familiar voice sounded so much like Nadz. Yes, indeed, it was him. He left, and came back again.

I broke a glass, yet again! So as for now, I have broken a glass, a small saucer and another glass. Alas.
I am such a klutz.

Initially, Nadz and I were fighting over the mopping of C/ D. He was supposed to do it, but I reckon it was the least I could do since I wasn't of much help earlier on. We tugged that one mop from each other and he sure was obstinate, but he ultimately gave up.
Nadz: You are stubborn, but I am even more stubborn.

After mopping C/ D, I took my bag and said bade farewell to Ash, Shaik, Charis, kitchen, and lastly Farhan. I thought he didn't bring an extra helmet since he hadn't mention anything. But he did, so I waited for him. Meanwhile, I helped Charis, a trainee, with her closing too.

When Farhan and I left Fish & Co., Nadz was still there and it didn't seem like he was going to leave anytime soon. We were at the carpark and before Farhan and I put our helmets on, we heard someone yelled. Farhan looked more curious than surprised. Then Farhan hollered back.
Jean: Why?
Farhan: No, it is either Nadz or Ash.
Jean: Huh, really? It sounds more like Nadz.
Farhan: Yes, it's Nadz. *points at Nadz*

They sounded like brother wolves howling at each other. Haha.

Farhan installed a box behind his bike and he said I was the first who didn't like it. The box itself looks cute, and it suits his bike, but I don't really fancy bikes with boxes. This time, I had difficulty mounting his bike, thanks to his box. I had to try like two three times, and the last successful attempt happened when I had to pull my leg up. Literally pulled, with my hand. Both of them were looking and I kept them waiting. How embarassing. They were mocking at the way I climbed on the bike. It was hilarious, though!

It was pouring, so we halted at the entrance of the carpark. Nadz left anyway, after waiting for a minute or so. Farhan stopped for a cigarette before heading towards my place. It was definitely another experience to ride in the downpour. It got heavier halfway through the ride, with lightnings and thunders. We were soaking wet, like thoroughly drenched. It was flooding in my shoes.

Due to the heavy downpour, Farhan had to stay under my block, so I accompanied him. We had a great talk. He always say that best friends should never have secrets between them. I appreciate the way he treats me, really. Like Timothy, Farhan's prediction will usually come true too. For once, I hope Farhan's gut feeling towards something will never happen. He feels that I am not mentally prepared.

So we separated at 0145, thereabout. Still raining then.

I am so worn out now. I need to catch up on my sleep.
Goosenuts.
Swedish drinks.

Please pull me along.

A date with Amanda went on as planned, and we were on our way to Somerset via mode of public transport, by the name of MRT. Singapore is a mere red dot on the map, and I can't wish for a private jet to bring me to my destination within this puny (tropical) island. Right?

Bratty told me so many happenings at her workplace, I feel like I am their crew as well. Her stories are pretty interesting, so it got me following. Before we knew it, we were already at her workplace. This sounds pathetic, but I had a little fun stepping on those little steps across the fountain. She collected her paycheck and we walked over to Paragon for our late lunch. I satisfied my craving for Alfredo at Coffee Club and it tasted heavenly. I have had Strawberry Chocolate Blend to go along with my pasta, while Amanda chose Iced Rambutan for her Honey Mustard.

We did some shopping at Raffles City, and I finally got a box for my Aldo shades.
LIKE F I N A L L Y.
It is an Aldo box, actually. Haha. It is gorgeous, and it only cost me $15. Isn't that such a deal? I have been longing for a box to protect my dear Aldo shades for centuries!

We ended our day with sweet delicacy- Ben & Jerry's. We contemplated for quite awhile before making our decisions as they were so many flavours we wanted to have. Both of us settled for large, anyway.
LARGE=3 SCOOPS.
How awesome is that.
Out of the three flavours, I opted for one familiar taste- Cookie Dough. The other two were Cake Batter and Cheesecake Brownie. Ice cream never fails to make me feel so delightful.
Kudos to you.

I got home pretty early today, so I took my bath before getting online. At last, I have gotten Hot! and finished reading through the magazine. I have also more or less prepared all my documents, and I shall have it mailed tomorrow.

Tomorrow(today) is a brand new day, and I am finally going back to work after four days.
Brace myself.

Goodnight, candies.

Candies.

I will just make it snappy because I so have to get to bed as soon as I can. I would be meeting Bratty in the afternoon(:

Instead of going for our medical checkup, Nabz and I pushed it backwards to this coming Monday.
Anyway, we were supposed to meet up at noon, but I guess lack of sleep really killed us stone dead. I met Nabilah and her mother as they had errands to run, so I merely tagged along. We abolished our initial plan of going to Marina Square to catch a movie, and settled for somewhere nearer, which is none other than Tampines Mall. That was where we bumped into Carmen!

Both of us got the tickets for Marley and Me before hunting for places to dine in. Billy Bombers was what we have decided on, and indeed, we have had a hearty meal. Root beer float was LURVEZXZXZX.

We entered the theatres just in the nick of time.
This flick was longer than expected, and it was better than what I was anticipating for. I thought both Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston had acted pretty well in this show. Those little toddlers and children were angels. How adorable.

Y a y.
For once, I have stopped grumbling how shitty life is.
Wonderful, isn't it?

Goosenuts.

Heart strangled, clothes mangled.

I have had difficulties trying to sleep, yet again.
It gets on my nerves, but I guess I just have to adapt to it.
I have been constantly ranting about how life hasn't been great for me. It is like an entire litany of my complaints, and in all honesty, it tires me. Everyone has their individual stories to tell, and I have mine too. I realised I have been keeping more things to myself now more than ever. I am aware how much it irks my friends, especially when I look bothered and choose to keep mum. I guess it comes with maturity. I am trying to imply that at times, it may be better to be private about certain matters and straighten out my thoughts alone with no interference or intervention.

(I feel so remorseful now.)

Nabz, Anne and I arrived at the entrance of E! Hub slightly after 1500, which suggested that we were late. To my disbelief, Nadz and Ash were even later. Meanwhile, the three of us were lazing around at the fifth level, blabbering gibberish. According to Anne, we had been waiting for the guys for an hour.
GUYS.

We headed to Mcdonalds at Downtown East to grab a bite.

Then we wandered aimlessly along the beach, and eventually settled down at the breakwaters. We left Pasir Ris Park once the sky looked like it was about to spit on us. We scrammed to E! Hub's Coffee Bean and settled down, with drinks for all of us.

It was already dark when we left E! Hub for a long walk. From the carpark where Nadz parked his bike, we walked into Aloha Loyang (quoted from Ash), and out of it to the crossroad of Drive 4. That was where we sent Anne off, and carried on walking till we reached the junction at the opened carpark. Apparently, we walked one big round.

I guess this is all I can produce today.
I finally got my online enrolment done.

My mind is mentally exhausted. Yes, I have been thinking and thinking, constantly pondering. Brooding over those same old issues. It just never ceased.

02 March (Monday)- Outing
03 March (Tuesday)- Medical checkup
04 March (Wednesday)- Date
05 March (Thursday)- Work
06 March (Friday)- Mum's place
07 March (Saturday)- With mum
08 March (Sunday)- Work

GOODNIGHT.

Victory is yours to call it.

I have seen the storm brewing right from the start. Stupidity got the better of me, and I chose to weather the storm. I see the end of it, when victory is yours to claim.
All's Well that Ends Well, please.

I believe we all have those days when we experience the ups in life. The downs are inevitable as well. How unfortunate of me to be trapped in days of the latter when I am supposed to enjoy some of my best days in life.
My days have been starting off bad. I am aware that I dreamt, but more often than not, I lose memories of those dreams. However, I managed to keep you at the back of my head. I would be deluding myself if I were to deny. Cranky is all I am when I rise. A good bath makes a little effort in freshening me up.
My nights would end as bad as how my days started out. Take last night for instance. I was dead beat. I settled myself on bed right after I got offline, but I didn't manage to fall asleep until 0430, thereabout. Of course it was frustrating. I tossed and turned, trying to find a comfortable position, but it was useless. I did lots of thinking, yet again. I guess such things always happen when the night falls. The day is coming towards its end but still, nothing seems to be on the right track. Perhaps that kept me awake.
Clock was ticking, and I gradually fell asleep.

I woke up in the afternoon, and aunt dropped by. I didn't strike a conversation with her since I had to prepare myself to meet Nabz. There was a downpour before I left home, but it kind of subsided when I was about to leave. I hailed a cab and went down to Tampines Mall. After slight deliberation, we decided to head to the airport and dine in at Fish & Co. Both of us were hoping to see some familiar faces on shift. True enough, Ton and Carmen were right at the doorstep of the restaurant.

Before we were seated to a table, we were guessing what soup they have today. Initially, we both chose Seafood Chowder. Then I changed my mind to Fish Chowder.

Ton led us to a secluded corner of the restaurant and Nabz picked a table right at the end.
Ton: The soup of the year is Fish Chowder.
Nabz: Soup of the year?
Jean: Why year?
Ton: Because we never changed it.

It was so funny to us but Ton seemed indifferent about that. I won the bet, anyway. Haha.
Nabz and I contemplated for a long time before making our minds up on what to have.
G. Sole Sambal (chips main), completing the meal with Kola Tonic, for Nabz.
P. Fettuccini, completing the meal with Passion Fruit, for Jean.
Lime Cola to share.
Apparently, all drinks were meant for us to share. Haha. Fish Chowder was savoury and exquisite, as always. It was a pity we couldn't finish our food. Such a waste. The guilt is biting on my conscience.

We lingered in the restaurant for quite some time, really. Then we braced ourselves for something more adventurous. Nope, we weren't really going to Zimbabwe. Neither are we going to Kenya to feed the wildlife. We merely just stepped out of the terminal and trekked on the narrow pavement along the road. Our first mission was to get to the foot of the control tower from T3. We didn't, because it wasn't easy at all. So we headed for T1 instead, and walked out from the carpark.
YAAAYYYYY.
We eventually managed to get to the entrance of the tower.
After which, we returned to T1 and took a bus back to Pasir Ris, where we alighted at one of the bus stops, and hopped on to bus 21.

The highlight of our day begins when we were strolling along the beach. There was this particularly huge group of people that caught our attention. Nabz commented on the crowd and I sarcastically remarked on how the large pack shared a pit. Little did we expect that the pit belonged to you-know-which-class. Some goddess was so absent-minded that it slipped out of her mind. Awkward.

As we walked on, we thought someone was tailing us, but no, it was just an old man jogging past. We heaved a sigh of relief. Soon after, this African-ish girl just appeared by my side and asked if we knew the time. It showed 2140 on my mobile phone, but I told her it was 2135. She wanted to walk with us because she fought with her friends and they left her alone. Nabz and I called Michael for help, and he gladly did. We were so grateful to him.

Nabz was traumatised, hahaha. So we went to E! Hub to cool down a bit. Ain came to join us after work. After which, these two Samaritans sent me to my block.

The curtains of my stage is about to close for the night. When the crowd has dispersed, all I hear is that familiar echoing silence reaching out to every corner of the theatre.

Goodnight, fellows.

Danger zone.

I am in a really horrible mood right now and I am not liking it at all.
I feel shitty. As much as I wish to type out a torrent of abuse here, I know nothing will be changed, and therefore, I am going to be all civilised and keep those profanities to myself.

Nabz said she wanted to beat the length of my previous substantial post, so we shall see. As for my current post, I am sure it wouldn't be that lengthy, but I shall try my very best. It isn't getting early and blogging seriously consumes too much of my time. At this very moment, I only have thoughts of sleeping, because only then, I can escape from harsh reality. Like others, I just wish to be perfect and have the best of both worlds. However, I can be nowhere near perfect, ever. It saddens me.

Cut the crap. I shall move on to chapter ___ of my life. Pardon me, I have an uninteresting life. My life is no phantasy.

I retired for the night in the wee small hours, and got out of bed at 1500. I had time on my hand, so I didn't rush to prepare myself. On my journey to my workplace, I did some thinking. I always do.
How it saddens me.
How it angers me.

I was also pondering over my deployment, and I thought I would be doing C/ D since my shift starts at 1900.

Jean: Hi. Very busy uh? Huh.
Jean: What am I doing today?
Ash: You're doing B.
Jean: Huh. Why B again?
Ash: Really. You go check.
Ash: I'm not lying.

Yes, why was I doing B again? It has been a long time since I last ran C/ D.
No, wait, have I even handled C/ D before? Not in my recollections, though.
Whatever it is, I was hoping for C/ D. Lazy me. Haha. Station B is like the biggest station, everrr.

Tonight seemed to be busier than yesterday's evening. The greeter line was never ending. We kept having food that was delayed. Some guests said that our service was slow. We were all running about and someone actually said our service was slow. Do you expect us to sprint, skate or teleport in our restaurant?
On the contrary, we have had considerate guests as well. Those who understood our predicament. I have no reason to get mad at them. Absolutely none at all.
I have encountered same old situations like customers taking eons to make up their minds on what they would like to have. Honestly, I don't think it's nice keeping us waiting. We seriously don't have time to hear your discussion on your decision.

I love sporting customers. The ones that take up your suggestion.
Jean: How about topping up 5.50 to get one soup and a drink?
Guest: Fantastic. I'll have that.

Awesome.

The cashier and cutlery area were the outlets for us to vent our anger. Whenever we were fuming mad and raging into anger, we would just walk by that little area and start complaining about the customers. Mon was telling Eric and I to shoo the greeter line away. Then I told Eric to get out there and promote Swensens. Nabilah kept complaining as well. It was just so cool.

When it gets really busy, we really detest clearing up the mess that the previous customers created. Don't you just agree? Therefore, I asked Ashaari to write up a proposal to request for vacuum cleaners. Haha. You would definitely see how rapid our turnover would be.

The crowd died down, and yay, we heaved a sigh of relief. At one point of time, my entire station was like salmagundi. I have glasses cluttered and pans scattered. It looked so chaotic. I got everything all cleaned up eventually. Of course I had to do that! I just took my time and did one thing at a time. At least I would call that an achievement.

I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I DON'T KNOW.
I really don't.

Where are those words?

(In British accent.)

I have all the time in the world
(I wish you had it too)
to ramble and babble the happenings of today.

I revi'alised myself with a bar of Hershey's chocolate and a glass of lukewarm wa'er. You always need something healthy to write off the guilt of having a chocolate bar. My partners today were none other than May Ann and Bet'y, and Lynette. It had been a long time since I last worked with her. She's like the elder sister I never had.

I had a gut feeling I would be appoin'ed as bar runner today since I was supposed to clock in at 1300. I managed to talk myself round, that I could relax this afternoon, being a bar runner. However, it wouldn't make any sense. After all, Bet'y is always the bar runner.
All the bet'er.
I was deployed as runner and in-charged of station A.
Despite being a Friday, 'busy' doesn't seem to fit in here.
(Can't say the same for night shift.)

Several tables caught my attention and left me an impression.

Table 03:
A couple, probably in their mid-fifties.
Semi-formally dressed.
What got me noticing them was their MSP-ish feel.
I had to bring in some guests, and of course, I had to go through the same procedure by repeating thesoupofthedayitem86recommendationspromotions. Apart from maintaining eye contact with them, I was also ensuring I wasn't oblivious to my surroundings. Apparently, I caught them staring and nodding.
Were they on pills? Haha.

Table 38/39:
Three glut'ons. Apparently not. They just look like it. One of which simply cannot stop staring. No, there is nothing to blow horns about. It made my toes curled and I felt very uneasy, and no, I am not implying that he has designs on me. Come on, who are we trying to kid. Whenever I caught his vision by accident, I would knit my eyebrows together. It just bewildered me too much. Perhaps I look like his long-lost mother. Either that, or he was trying to craft a plan to steal from our cash machine. So fellow fisherians, beware. We have to be on our toes and stay vigilant.
Roger?

Table 06:
A mother with a child. After placing her order with Lynette, she got me over and requested me to change her chips that comes with Fish & Chips to rice. She was really polite and I was more than willing to inform the kitchen about the change. When I got back to her with her food, she said,
"Oh, that is very nice. Thank you."
I was glad she appreciated it even though I thought nothing of my gesture.
We often have cases like such
-changing of starch, but more often than not, we don't get responses this gracious.

Mhars is fretting over that night's deployment.
Jean approaches Mhars.
(Five seconds later.)
Mhars: You think tonight's gonna be busy uh?
Jean: Friday night. Ya.
Mhars: Yaaa, Friday night. Shit.
Mhars: Darling uh, do you think you can work tonight, 6 to 11? Greeter.
Jean: Huh. Can, but I don't wanna be greeter.
Mhars: Okay okay, Ashaari be greeter. You do B.
Jean: Okay.
Mhars: Ashaari be greeter?
Jean:
*laughs*
Mhars: Okay. May Ann will do A. Then Nadz be floater.
Jean nods and walks away.

I am clueless to why I can remember this conversation that vividly. It's funny.

Ephraim came by to pick Lynette up for a movie. Boy, has it been ages since I last saw him too. Once Lynette left, I had to tend the floor alone. Noor came down for an in'erview anyway, through Leonard's recommendation, I reckon.

I had been informed by Charie that someone may drop by for audit/ OAS. I was uptight initially, but lit'le did I expect this mysterious person to be nice. Technically, I didn't speak a word to him, vice versa. Like Charie, he is a Filipino. Either that, or he had taken up their na'ive language and is well-versed in it. Just so you know, I have heard he is a supervisor/ manager at Jurong Point's outlet. When he left, he merely just raised his brows, creased his forehead and smiled goodbye.

So anyway, when I first realised that Jun and Wong will be working tonight as well, I gasped, but my thoughts were neutral.
"Gosh, the brothers."
We all know how Wong is like. Constantly trying to make dir'y and flir'y jokes with all the female staffs. We all know how funny he can get with all his nonsense since they are simply casual remarks. So here are some hilarious abs'racts, for memory sake.

I went into the ki'chen along with Jun and Wong to take our share of staff meal. Before Wong engaged in a conversation with me, I was at the other side, going to scoop some rice first.

Jean: Leonard. Do me a favour.
Leonard: What?
Jean: Help me hold on to this.
Jean scoops rice.
Jean: Okay, thank you.
Leonard: You take so little, might as well don't take. Waste my strength.
Jean:
*laughs*

Then I went over to get the dishes.

Wong: What are you waiting for?
Jean: Huh?
Wong: Spoon.
Jean: Oh! Yeah.
Jean approaches the door.
Wong: Use this one lah. Not mine. I haven't take.
Jean: Never mind. You can take it.
Wong: No, not mine lah. I don't know whose one. Just now already here.
Jean: Oh, okay.

Using the spoon, I took some egg, with onions slices.
ONION SLICES! I was aware of it, but it just didn't strike me to not take the egg.

Wong: Eh, you want egg or not?
Jean: Aren't I taking them now?
Wong: Ya. No, not this one.
Wong: You know that one, with the yellow yellow in the middle and white thing outside.
Jean: Oh, that. Sunny-side-up.
Wong: Yeah, I think it's that one.
Jean: Why?
Wong: If you want, you say one time, I go make for you.
Jean: Huh? No, don't have to.

Jean: Can do me a favour?
Wong: What?
Jean: Take that for me, please.
*points at garlic lemon butter*
Wong: Can.. Anything for my future girlfriend.

Wong is doing coordinator at that moment when Nadz and I are standing at the hatch.
Jean: Lemon butter.
Wong: What the fuck you want?
Jean: Lemon butter.
Wong: Sorry sorry, I thought you Betty.
Jean: Never mind.
Nadz: Bastard sia.
Wong: Sorry uh sorry.
Jean: Never mind.

These are only few jokes he made. You have no idea how many girls he has ever harassed. Few other girls he enjoys teasing would be Nabilah, and Hanah.

Wong: (to Jean) Eh, you stead with me uh.
Wong: Then we go out on Valentine's Day. No need to work.
Jean:
*laughs*
Farhan:
*laughs*
Wong: (to Betty) Eh Betty, you stead with with me then Valentine's Day no need to work.
Jean:
*laughs*
Farhan:
*laughs*

Wong: Eh Jean, you tired not?
Jean: No.
Wong: If you tired, I can give you Thai massage.
Jean: No, thank you.
*laughs*
Wong: Hanah, you want or not?
Hanah: No.
Wong: First, I would go..
(We shall not go into that, shall we?)
Hanah: No.

You have no idea how hilarious such moments can get. Hahaha.

We shan't digress, so back to my egg. I ate egg with
ONIONS! You may want to applaud, you know. So anyway, Nadz briefed us. Us included Eric, Ashaari and May Ann. He expected more people on the floor, though. I had to hit 15 sales of complete meal. UNFORTUNATELY, I failed to reach it by a mere margin of one sale. I was so disappoin'ed in myself. This was actually my first time having a serious target to hit and I failed myself. It's like when I kept track of my complete meals, I got lesser sales than usual. Suggesting complete meal is a routine for me all these while, so whatever it is, this minor setback won't put me down. Woohoo..

No doubt it was a fun night. I managed to keep my spirits high, which was a
m i r a c l e. I didn't really have a moment of irritation and it stunned me. We had a birthday rap led by you-know-who. Like who else can it be? I star'ed pulling out the ball out of the strap of their lanyards. In other words, I loosened the lanyards. Nadz merely screamed. Ash's reaction was classic. When I did that to him, he would shrug his shoulders and bring his head close to them. Yes, picture it.

I was glad I was useful on the floor.
However, when I wanted them to join me in my ritual to worship me, they refused. Do you call this appreciation?
Hahaha.

I should think this is the most substantial post I have ever produced in my history of blogging.

Because you were the nation.

I wish to speak.

I am in the sea.
The sea is hearing me wail.

I am amongst the clouds.
The clouds are hearing me boast.

I am on the grass.
The grasses are hearing me howl.

I am with the children.
The children are hearing my stories.

I am with the cowboys.
The cowboys are hearing my woes.

I am with you.
You are hearing nothing.

Tuesday, February 24, 2009

Please, just play along.

23 February 2009, Monday:

Basically, I was out the whole day with my soulmate. To put it simply, it was a marvellous girls-day-out. Needless to say, the dumb blonde moments we had made our day. Weird people on the streets will never fail to tickle you.
We grabbed a bite at Starbucks and chocolate drinks just made us hiiigggghhhhh. People on the streets were bound to think that we were as drunk as lords or something.
"Hello, ladies. It's still too early to get drunk. Get a life."
Then we went all Hong Kong-y with the accent. Nangbilong, as in Nabilah. Jeng, as in Jean. Et cetera.
We popped by Amanda's workplace too. Haven't seen this lady in ages.

I am dead beat.
(Lack of sleep can kill me stone dead.)

24 February 2009, Tuesday:

I was totally psyched about the meet-up with Timothy. Yes, indeed it has been eons since I last saw him. Both of us had been fussing over what to do when we hang out together. Ultimately, we settled for some shopping. He wanted to get a bag, so we headed to City Hall in hopes of finding one. We scoured every possible place, and he managed to purchase his bag. It dawned upon me that guys can shop like girls too.
(Timothy, acknowledge your presence if you were to read this.)

What is this world turning into? I have an aunty in gothic outfit. Either that, or Benjamin Button is reflected on her. Am I supposed to dress myself in heavy floral shirts with shoulder pads and dark-coloured slacks? This better not be some fashion trend that we have tomorrow. I'm sure we all have better taste than that.

Timothy checked out some shoes, and I must say, those are pretty pretty shoes. Shoes, baby. We did catch up quite a fair bit. In fact, I managed to update him with my happenings. Everyone needs a good listening ear.
I will never forget the old couple we saw. They were the sweetest things.

We didn't hang out long today since both of us wanted to get home early. We bumped into some of the teachers from ex-secondary school when we were on our way home. Teachers like Ms Lim, Ms Sheila and Mr Choo. Not a change at all.

Just so you know, my aunty, which is my stepmother, returned today. I am confused. I have absolutely no idea what has been going on. Some time back, my dad told me my aunty is bound to leave this home one day. When she did, I thought she left for good. She took most of her belongings with her. But now, she is back. Had my dad not told me anything, I would have took it as she was at Vietnam to visit her family. I have never interfered with their matters, but I do wish to have a brief idea of the happenings, you know. Keeping me in the dark will leave me imagining and speculating.
On the other hand, some things are better not to be known.

I suppose that's how life should be. Therefore, I am not loving every moment of it.
(But I know I want to.)

Ain't no couch potato.

I haven't been catching up much on the television programmes on the box, but come on, everyone has to watch Oscars! On the whole, it was definitely a great event. Hugh Jackman rocked the stage. His performances took my feet off the ground. Not only him, but Zac Efron blew me off too! They were just awfully amazing. Hey, James Franco and Robert Downey Jr. were stunning as well.

Bride Wars.
Fantabulous flick with outstanding actresses.
I have watched it with my soulmate and I am absolutely certain that she is the best companion for a movie like Bride Wars, whereby the storyline reflects a friendship between two ladies. It sure was touching. As you have always heard, best friends don't come by easily.

He's Just Not That Into You.
Such a splendid comedy chick flick. Come on, everyone loves a hysterical chick flick. It may have been a really dumb blonde kind of show, but you have to admit this movie was great.
"I am the exception. You are my exception."

New In Town.
This was such a typical and predictable movie. Don't expect much from the plot as you can pretty much anticipate the ending of the show, really. There were some brief hilarious moments, though. I guess I love the Christmas scene the most(:

The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button.
Highly anticipated film, and I believe it didn't disappoint the audience. It may have pretty draggy, but in all honesty, the film moved me. No one can ever let such a movie slip by. Brad Pitt was able to immerse himself completely into his role.

There are sooooo many many many more movies I have to catch!

Goodnight, folks.
(I'll try to update as soon as I can.)

Soulmates.

Goodnight.

Sweetest things.

Nabzee says:
and i know sometimes so what if we're here, we cant take away the pain, but we'll try to help you through this, me and lynn. we wont abandon you here in your hardest of times

ґұйи- the stars are in your reach, just stretch a little more ♥ (n ur armpit hair wil b shown!-by jin) says:
we'll b here to listen to al ur troubles, lend u our shoulders fer u to cry on, n solve ur problem tgt((:

Hear me out. Listen.

There are clearly more pikchers than that, but this technology of mine forbade me to advance. Honolulu lulu lulu.

Lulu just reminds me of Timothy. I miss him so very much. It's a regret that I haven't been able to meet up with him. I hope to, soon, perhaps, before we get sucked into one of the most dramatic transitions we would experience in life.
Things would therefore change drastically.
Of course, I miss Shayne too. Guess what? Shayne has yet to return me my Twilight novel. I have expected this since the day I have decided to lend him my book. Nonetheless, I still did, for his is one of the greatest friends I have ever had. His excuse for not returning me my novel: (quoted from Shayne himself) it keeps us connected in a way. Classic. I once found difficult to reach out to him when we barely know each other. However, time changes everything. I can't say the same for Timothy as we started off well and easy. I know he would confide in me if he wants to. Timothy is rare.

This is random, but I miss my tutor too. I miss Janet. I remember how I kept procrastinating when it comes to tuition. The issue lies with me since I am not the studious sort. You have no idea how many times I have postponed my tuition sessions. I have to admit, though, I have learnt a lot from Janet. I appreciate it. I think she's someone we should all look up to. Annaay and Lynnaay, can we arrange to meet her, soon? It has been bothering me since last year. Haha.

I am begging and praying that I wouldn't have anything important on the 6 and 7 of March, please please please.
Pleeeaaaaassssseeeeeeeeee..
Pretty please.
*Cross fingers*

To be frank, I am sick and tired of the life I am experiencing now. Hardly would I feel contented with my happenings. It's nothing to be happy or proud about. I want to lead a life like a novel. Regardless of its storyline, I know there is an end to it. It may be hardships I am going through, or perhaps a fairytale that everyone prays day and night for, but so long as I know when my story is going to end, it may be something I would wish for.

Thou shalt love yourself.

Ladies' scene.

Work is in the air.

NO! Stop it, I have no date for Valentine's Day.

12 February 2009, Thursday:

Working.
I worked five hours for free this time. We'll always have to start from dirty jobs, but it's all worthwhile.
Farhan came down with Khai and we were at the opened area, where they smoked.
I only recalled I hadn't had my dinner when aunty Florence asked me. Farhan asked if I wanted to grab a bite at Mcdonalds before heading home, but there were quite a lot of leftovers for that night, so we saved some money on that.
I helped out with closing, and Farhan kindly sent me home. Luckily he brought an extra helmet just in case I stayed till closing.

13 February 2009, Friday:

Working.
I wasn't supposed to work, but Mhars had a reservation for 32. You needn't squint your eyes to see if you got it wrong.
YES, 32 PAX.
So the table for 32 occupied nearly the entire of station A. Thankfully, I was handling station B. The noise generated from them were louder than stereos blasting.

My girls made my day(:

14 February 2009, Saturday:

Happy Valentine's Day.

I was really sleepy when I got to Fish & Co. this morning. The greetings I received wasn't of much help. Haha, everyone was just too tired.
Jean: (to Nadz) Hi.
Jean: (to Mhars) Hi.
Mhars: Hi, darling.
Nadz: Hi.
Nadz: Happy Valentine's.
Jean: Happy Valentine's.
Then he dragged himself to staff lounge, sat beside aunty Julie, and slammed his face on the table and grumbled.

Deployments (morning)
Station A: Farhan
Station B: Mon
Greeter: Mon
Runner: Jean
Bar Runner: Betty
Bartender: May Ann
Floater: Nadz
I think I am right.

Khai was the coordinator and he was so professional-looking. Not like those chefs in high-end restaurants with tall hats and white robes, though. Haha.

While I was preparing new batch of sauces.
Nadz: (pointing to one chilli dip) Who did this? See, lonely. *Smiles*
Jean: *Shrugs*
Familiar much?

Morning shift wasn't that pleasant. We all know why.
My mood got better when I started my night shift. Okay, technically, I started at 1615.

Deployments (night)
Station A: Jean
Station B: Mon
Station C: Nabilah
Station D: Nabilah/ Q
Greeter: Anne
Runner: Farhan/ Eric
Bar Runner: Betty/ Q
Bartenders: May Ann/ Hanah
Floater: Farhan

Despite being really packed, time seemed to have crawled for me. I was so thirsty I was like a fish out of the water gasping for oxygen. It got really warm in there too. All of us were literally scrambling around, dodging pans, sliding past, slipping between chairs, everything for the sake of being efficient. I think we should get credits for that. Chai came down, and she was so funny. I'm seriously too lazy to elaborate. So I'll leave this as it is.

Let me just list out several mentalities of customers.
Mentality #1:
"Aren't they pitiful? It's so busy I think we shouldn't trouble them so much."
Mentality #2:
"Wow, they look so busy, but they should serve us all the same."
Mentality #3:
"They're busy, but we contribute to GST, so it's only right for them to serve us."
Mentality #4:
"Are you sure it's even busy? It's their job what."

Tiredness is what we all get at the end of Valentine's Day.
Great.

Stop right there, quack.

I have the urge to express the string of words churning in my mind through the ability of my fingers. More often than not, inspiration hits when I have no means of recording. I would always have to make do with the capacity of my memory, but as you know, I have a memory like a sieve. Besides, I am no writer. I can't produce anything substantial. I talk stupid.
Get what I am saying? Yes, you do.

I have a friend, a girl whom sits right at the core of my heart. She feels every thud of my heart. She understands me like no one else does. She grows the leaves on my tree. She grows the flowers on my grass. She draws the curtains to my stage. Most of all, I know she loves me as much as I love her.
My beloved best girlfriend, Nabilah Zaharah Shah.
(I thought I should be grateful and feature her on my post.)

Do my homework.

I SHOULD SERIOUSLY TURN IN EARLIER EACH NIGHT AND GET AMPLE REST. Phyo and Minthu said my eyes looked tired.

I was thirty minutes late for work today. I wasn't informed of the change in my schedule, and that explains. In retrospect, guests were generally fine today. Unfortunately, I was literally idling around for an hour. The restaurant was empty from 1600 to 1700, thereabout. I took my own sweet time to mop the floor. I did the sauces. I labelled new stocks and place them inside the cupboard. Those ice in the water jugs have already melted. Then Farhan came. Once I knocked off, we had our meals together. When he got down on the floor, I went along to help as well. Apparently, I worked an extra of four hours, for free. It was definitely worthwhile!

Lovezxzxzx.
May Ann stayed behind to help out with closing. Farhan and I went up to smoke. (No, I didn't smoke.) Anyway, it seemed like my journey home today was shorter.

(I know she would want this to be mentioned.)
NABILAH ZAHARAH SHAH, ALONG WITH NURUL AIN BINTE MUSTAFA CAME DOWN TO SEE ME. Sorry, babes, I can't bear to leave just now. Thank you all the same, for waiting.

New course for me.

Yeah, so it's true. I'm not in Retail and Hospitality Design(RHD) anymore. No design school. I'm in Temasek Polytechnic, School of Business, Retail Management(RM). Tell me, who else are in this course.

RETAIL MANAGEMENT.

Swamps and fireworks.

The night before: 0315 thereabout. (Help!!!)
Last night: 0300.
(Nooooo!)

In case you are wondering, I was posted to Temasek Polytechnic, School of Design, Retail and Hospitality Design. Yes, I know, it sounds like a huge joke to you. I was surprised myself. Initially, I took it hard, I knew how tough this journey would be, especially when I don't have art background. But I slowly came to terms with it. I went to the extent of going to the National Library just to get some books for me to refer. Yes, you can call me a dweeb for once. I thought I would just chuck those books aside, with dust piling and cobwebs spinning. Instead of doing that, I actually read those books. I've read two so far, and everything in them captures my soul. It seems like I am developing an interest for RHD.
Guess what I did?
I tried to appeal for Retail Management.
Results are out today, and I went to check.
I
think
I
got
it.

I'm not very sure about it, you know how dumb I can get. (I'll update.)
I told myself, whatever the results may be, I would be fine with it.
I don't know why, but I'm afraid I may get into Retail Management. I wanted this course not because of interest. I just had a silly belief, thinking that business would have better future prospects than design.
So, I am really at a loss, all fouled-up.
However, what's done has already been done. I'm just going to accept whatever that has been given to me.
See, that's the result of not knowing what you want. Contradicting is my nature, and don't learn from me. I know how many times I have faltered in steps I have taken throughout my sixteen years of existence.
No regrets in the decision I have made, though.
Please understand.

She was awakened, in her nightgown and barefooted, finding herself in the middle of a long stretch of road that didn't seem to have an end on both sides. She knew it leads to the hustle bustle city. She never contemplated taking the road as the continuation to her journey. It was too dangerous.
Barren land with miracles of sparse withered weeds.
She saw a mountain behind the barren land. Just one mountain, that seems to be reaching out for the night sky.
Vast land with a forest of trees sitting on it.
She never did see the faint light coming from that little cottage amid those trees.
She knew what she wanted. Yes, she does.

He was awakened, in his slacks and straw hat, finding herself in the middle of a long stretch of road that didn't seem to have an end on both sides. He knew it leads to the hustle bustle city. He never contemplated taking the road as the continuation to his journey. It was not worthwhile.
Barren land with miracles of sparse withered weeds.
He never did see the moon that hangs above the mountain. Neither did he see that one mountain.
Vast land with a forest of trees sitting on it.
He saw that dim light coming from that little cottage and he felt the warmth that he is praying for.
He knew what he wanted. Yes, he does.

She went great lengths to have the moon for company. That's all.
He had the embrace from his wife. That's enough.

It happened.

With ardour.

I really don't feel like talking about work.

My love.
Where have you been? I have been pining for you since you left my embrace. Vast distance between us, and I miss you so. Your sweet scent lingers. The taste of your smoothness burns in my throat. The delight you send to my mind is overpowering. Your charm warms my heart like nothing else does. Your temptation is impossible to resist. I desire for you.
I long for you, Mug.
I yearn for my rootbeer.

I miss these two beloved guys of mine too.

Yes, I slept after three last night. Sorry, Jean(:

Medieval knights and castles.

Pardon me. Many a time, my title has completely no association with the contents of my post. It's like North and South pole that extreme, but who cares. After all, I managed to go to bed before two last night. Beat that, fellows.

It just stroke midnight and I'm just waiting for something to happen miraculously. Eager, yes. Desperate, no. It is purely anticipation.

Meanwhile..

06 February 2009, Friday:

I reached the store at 1115 this morning, only to be told that there was a change in my schedule. Okay, just a minor amendment. I was arranged to start at noon instead, and my schedule was shortened by an hour. I'm cool. So I ran an errand for Mhars-to buy her hair clips.

To sum it up, the trend amongst the customers we had today were being all fussy and picky.

No doubt I am a fuddy duddy when it concerns my sauces. Someone turned a deaf ear to my jarring preaches.
Nabz: I'll always tune out to what Jean says.

Jean: Na-bi-laaahhh! *Nostrils flaring, steam escaping.*
Nabilah sticks fingers into ears, walks away, turns back and walks towards Jean.
Nabz: Yes, Jean? *Grins*
Jean: HOW MANY TIMES DO YOU WANT ME TO TELL YOU?!
Jean points at sauces.
Nabz: What?
Jean: When you want to take an odd number of sauces, make it yourself!
Nabz: Huh, wait wait. What, again?
Jean: For example, you want to take 2 tartar and 1 chili dip.
Jean: You take only 1 tartar and 1 chili dip, then you make the extra tartar yourself!
Nabz: Oh! Oh!
Jean: See! Now my tartar is alone there! How?
Jean: My tartar is sitting there alone. So lonely!

Jean: One more time, I'll make sure you drink it(tartar/ chili dip).

At least Anne understood my instructions right away. Haha.
I think the above was one of the funniest conversations today.

Then I went to leave a small note by the side of the sauces station.
"Don't make my sauces lonely. Thank you."
Later that evening, I received a text message from Nadz.
"Dun wori we wun make ur sauces lonely(:"
Good to hear.

There was this group of four ladies that sparked commotion among us. I wasn't quite sure what happened in the beginning as Anne was the greeter and she brought them in. There were actually two seated, initially. The first time I approached the table, one of the lady requested to tune down the volume level of our music.
(Hello, we are supposed to create a relaxing and entertainment environment.)
So I did.
Not long after, two other ladies joined in.
I don't usually take a good look at every individual faces at the table when I run the food, but this time, one of the ladies caught my attention.
Guess who it was?
Our very own, Jade Seah.
I went up to Nabz asking her to reassure me it's Jade Seah that is patronising, but Nabz have no idea who she was.
I approached Anne, and asked her to send the sauce set to that table, taking this opportunity to verify my sight. Yes, Anne agreed it was Jade Seah.
I wouldn't say it took long for the entire staff to know she was dining in with us, but it didn't happen immediately.
I guess that proved something.
Just so you know, we didn't have a pleasant experience serving that table at all.
Nabz, Anne and I were like shoving responsibilities to each other and whenever we were done doing our part, we would pass similar negative remarks. So hilarious.

After Nabz and I knocked off, we went up to Cafe Cartel for deserts. There were so many jocular moments, as of course. We had to be thrifty for once, so we walked home all the way from Tampines Mall to our respective homes. Yes, indeed.
Sunplaza Park teemed with cats and kittens. Nabz's heaven to be in.

That's about all(:

An hour has passed, something has happened.

If I have a farm, I would rear chickens at this moment. No Mug rootbeer, no chocolates, no cheese. Just fat little chickens.
Haha.
I would love my chickens.
I would feed my chickens.
I would bathe my chickens.
I would tell my chickens about this story.
Goodnight, chickens.

Monte Carlo.

Self-centered, yes.
Bestow with better happenings before good things diminish.
If you are capable of taking it away, please do. It may be for the better.

As for my resolution to turn in no later than 0245, I have been abiding to it so far.
(I suppose, haha.)
I went to bed at around two in the morning on Tuesday night.
I went to bed at 0240 last night. This was an exception.
*Sneaky laughter*

If you need a place where you can run
If you need a shoulder to cry on
I'll always be your friend

When you need some shelter from the rain
When you need a healer for your pain
I will be there time and time again
When you need someone to love you
Here I am

If you have broken dreams
Just lay them all on me
I'll be the one who understands
So take my hand

If there is emptiness
You know I'll do my best
To fill you up with all the love
That I can show someone
I promise you you'll never walk alone

My virgin ride.

Yes, indeed! My virgin bike ride was dedicated to Farhan.

03 February 2009, Tuesday:

He got me to take over his shift at night as he had something to attend to. In exchange, he offered to do closing for me and send me home.

Initially, there were only May Ann, Hanah and I governing the floor. Mhars was the MOD that night. Hanah and I panicked because there were simply too little of us handling constant flocks of guests. But when Nabz came down, our workloads were lightened.

Guess what? I did my first birthday rap!
Woohooooo..

I didn't really screw up, I suppose. Just that I have been told my voice could have been louder. It's all right, I will have my second shot at it.

Farhan, Nadz and Khai came down for closing. Farhan was a dear because he really mean it when he said he'll help me with closing. Most importantly, he scrubbed the floor for me. I do feel bad about it because till now, he's the only one who returned me this favour. I mean, I wouldn't mind taking over shifts without anything in return.

Now, for my bike ride experience.
IT WAS DEFINITELY A BLAST! It was my first time on a bike and I simply had a wonderful time. In all honesty, I was a little nervous for the first few seconds on Farhan's bike, but it died down when I get the thrill, really. For once, I was hoping I am living in Woodlands. Haha.

04 February 2009, Wednesday:

As for today, we had only two apparent people on the floor. Nadz was doing bar, while I was being deployed as greeter and station B master. But since Charie was the MOD, she said I had to do everything-bar runner, runner, station A and B, greeter. Can you imagine how tensed I got? Fortunately, the crowd didn't come in all at once. So Nadz and Charie were able to help me out many of a time. Whenever there were hot beverages or guests I don't feel like sitting them in, I would look at Nadz and he'll just cover for me. Haha. It may have been draggy and mundane, but Nadz and Charie made it more fun. Not forgetting, Khai, who amused me with his basic Mandarin.

My beloved Nabz and Lyn came down too! We had so many hysterical moments. Aww(:

I love you, ladies.
(It hurts.)

Stick to your own knitting.

I'll probably just pick up some random gibberish to entertain my audience here (more likely myself). I think I shall try to make blogging a routine. Don't question why. Besides, it's not a bad habit, right?

Reminder:
Turn in no later than 0245 each night/ morning.
Why?
I suppose I want to revert back to my diurnal self. I simply mean that I want to go to bed earlier.

I want eyelashes like blossoming sunflowers and not withering weeds dangling on my eyelids. I envy people (when I say people, I mean ladies and gentlemen) with long, luscious eyelashes. Natural ones, of course. I am no fan of fake eyelashes actually, but these are sooo cool. Haha.

I'll be back!
(I'm a happy happy girl.)

We'll whisper our secrets.

Train tracks do come to an end, but I still have miles ahead.
Please don't slow my journey down, for it's time to get to my destination now.

First incident:
I ordered chips as usual and asked Nabz to request for more chip spice from the kitchen.
Then Khai gave me half a medium-sized ramekin of chip spice. Nuts.

Second incident:
Mhars kept asking for group hug. Haha.

Third incident:
I literally fell while working. It's a long story. I was sitting there laughing at myself when I fell. How embarrassing.

Forth incident:
I broke my first glass while working. Another long story. Alas.

Fifth incident:
Charie jumped for joy when she saw a pan of brownie.

Goodnight, fellows.
(I'm a sad sad girl.)
